I did an entire photo shoot of this group of fungi which may be Lacrymaria velutina. I'm not sure. Light conditions changed constantly as clouds moved by quickly. Photos were taken at various aperture and exposure settings using a Canon 180mm Macro lens.

I captured this Swamp Sparrow early one morning at Avondale Preserve in Westerly, Rhode Island. I used a technique called "pishing" to bring the sparrow out of cover. it's a well known tactic of the birding community.
The grapes here are actually a wild species called...

Two weekends ago, I came across a woman walking her Pomeranian and snapped a few photos. None were anything special but with the help of cropping, cloning, desaturation, color balance, levels adjustments, and the blur tool, I came up with this.
Below I've linked a larger version and a...

The Galilee Fisherman untethers his trawler from its moorings in preparation for a long trip at Sea.
Notice the black nail polish. I did some research on this. Many commercial fisherman wear clear or black polish to protect their nails from the harsh marine environment.

This Galilee commercial fisherman prepares for a long trip at Sea. The water is his real home. He risks his life daily to satisfy his longing for endless waters. It's not for the money. It has been many years since a plentiful harvest was commonplace. He does it for the love of the water...

Oh how I miss the summer and kayaking. So much so that I was looking through some of my photos from last July. I was on a day kayaking trip on Wood River when I captured this special moment of a Father & Son. They both look so proud!

Steppingstone Falls was also the location of my last post called "In a Dream". As the Falls River reaches an area of exposed bedrock, it creates a spectacular natural area of rushing water, small waterfalls, and calm pools. In the winter, unique ice forms develop.

I visited Block Island, Rhode Island recently. Block Island is a bustling tourist attraction during the summer months but is peaceful and desolate during the winter. I'll only go there in the off-season. This photo is taken from the west side of the island looking northward to North Light....
