Just like to note one thing before I go forgetting about it... No description!? Your descriptions have always been as interesting as the photos. And I really liked your description of the technique. It helps us learn so much. And... about the image.... I'm guessing they're mushrooms. Flesh, indeed. The colours are so harmonious, they almost seem to blend in with each other.

Oh OK Maya. These are Oyster Mushrooms which have recently developed on an old log. I used a 100 mm Canon L-series macro lens. I lied down on the ground and took this shot handheld. The camera was braced by the ground. Normally I use a tripod for macro photography but these mushrooms were so low to the ground that I could not. I wanted the shot to come from a little underneath so that the mushroom gills would be a main part of the composition.

Wow..... something new !!!!! beautiful soft colors and light. Great texture and the grain works perfect in this one. There is just a little spot in the right muchroom where it meets the one under, iss very sharp cut with a strong light that affect the soft overall image. XOXO

Reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. This is very nice. I love the color and tones and the abstractness about it. I could tell it was some sort of fungi, but still it has an artistic sensability to it. It is also is very sensual, which is odd for fungi, no?

What an amazing photo, reminds you how interesting nature can be when you take a closer look. I'd give it a 9/10 but unfortunately 8 is my limit, so you get a 7. Thanks for sharing this with us, because it is a really good photo-I'm going to use this to draw or paint something soon.
