Description
This most spectacular dragonfly's common name is Calico Pennant. It's scientific name is (Celethemis Elisa). A male is photographed here. Females have basically the same wing and abdomenal patterns but is yellow and black rather than red and black. This species is fairly common in the northeastern USA and is found along pond edges but also wanders long distances and can also be found feeding in fields. They are often found perched atop branches which overhang the shoreline.
PS : In some field guides it is also known as Elisa Skimmer.

For macro shots I rather prefer the "ant view" instead a "top view" which makes this dragonfly almost looks like a breastspin. I noticed you carefully build a perfect symmetry in the composition, but I would prefer the view where I feel be a part of the macro scene. Something like you have used on your "Great Spangled Fritillary"
Technical aspect is on the very high level, but be careful with sharpening process: most contrasteous areas has visible bright line. Mostly eyes and butt.
And there's also too shallow depth of field. Hope with your new macro flash ring you can play more with the aperture. By the way what kind of macro lens have you used ?
For me it's somewhere in between 7/10 and 8/10. Don't worry, in my case it's really high mark, because I am giving 10/10 only to a few artworks which make me feel breathless (gotta say, one of your artworks got it
