Beautiful work Michelle. Nice bokeh. Background colors are very complimentary to the subject.

Very good one. the colors work well and you got a perfect background with a nice balance of detail and creamy softness. I have to disagree on the "great sharpness", it is very well in focus, yes, but a bit unfortunately it starts to get quite soft on its tail end. Not necessarily bad though

For the composition: very well done! An alternative to try out could be rotating it a bit clockwise to make the butterfly look right up and let the straw of grass form a perfect diagonal, that would be a stronger stylized composition. Yours is nice and subtle, I like it as well!

Overall a good piece of work. A 6/8 from me.

I notice that the left wing has a small part that is "gone" at the edge. Tough cookie! I wish it was there... Maybe try to do a little "fixing" in post editing... Ops...!

The background yellow/green:ish tone is very pleasant for the viewer.

The yellow blending into the yellow flower which it is sitting on is also a nice touch.

I too would have wished it to be slightly more crispy (ie sharp) and notice too that the edges of the wings (on both sides) are a little soft.

Excellent shot. Lovely colours and focus. Background is perfect. I agree about the lack of sharpness, bit of a bummer. Also I would like to see the crop TheWickedPoet sugests, altough I don't know if it would be an improvement.

Thanks for your comments people. I must agree about the soft edges along the bottom. I had taken several photos of this scene at various apertures. Here's a link to another version with a narrow aperture and better sharpness ...
