Description
This is an American Tree Sparrow. It nests well north of my area but winters here. The species feeds on over-wintering seeds and is usually found in fields and low scrub.

Some of the twigs in the background are annoyingly blurred, like I see doubles. But the bird has a nice focus on it.

the colors are fantastic here...
and the branches, often a bother, seems to fit well in this picture
well done

The eyes and beak could be slightly sharper imo.
The pastel colors are really pleasant as the background.
The branches on right where they the result straight from cam or part of any post editing tweaks? Just curious!

It´s really AMAZING™ Michelle!!

Patrick ... The branches are quite natural. The effect is from a shallow DOF using a 5.6 aperture. Many of the branches you see to the right were further back and pointing away which caused them to disappear into the background. I did use Neat Image on the photo which may have helped in blurring them. Sometimes we just get lucky!
Thanks again everyone. You are too kind.
Matias ... you are AMAZING!!!!!!!!

It seems you didn't use a Canon lens, what did you use instead?
Cheers, Yves.

I agree with Patrick and Purplerose about softness.
